Charity Gala Event – Terms and Conditions
We want everyone to have a fun and enjoyable experience, but we need to make sure that the terms and conditions of sale are clear.
1. Event Details and Organiser
The event is a charity gala ("the Event") organised by Wolverton School and Wolverton Parent Teacher Association (collectively, "the Organisers"), with Wolverton Parent Teacher Association being a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity Number 1006892) or the relevant organising entity. The Event will take place on 13/06/2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, England.
2. Age Restriction – 18+ Only
The Event is strictly for attendees aged 18 years and over. By purchasing a ticket or attending, you confirm that you (and all members of your party) are at least 18 years old. Proof of age (e.g., passport, driving licence, or other acceptable photographic ID) may be required upon entry. Failure to provide satisfactory proof will result in refusal of entry without refund.
3. Ticket Purchase and Payment
Tickets are sold subject to availability. All ticket prices are stated inclusive of any applicable VAT. Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse any ticket purchase or application.
4. Non-Refundable Tickets
All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable, except in the limited circumstances set out in these Terms (e.g., Event cancellation by the Organisers, or where required by law). No refunds will be given due to a change of mind, inability to attend, personal circumstances, or failure to meet entry requirements (including age verification). This policy is in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for recreational/cultural events.
5. No Transfers or Resale
Tickets are issued for personal use only and are non-transferable. Resale, attempted resale, or transfer of tickets (including via secondary platforms) is prohibited and will render the ticket(s) void without refund. The Organisers may cancel tickets suspected of being resold or transferred.
6. Event Changes, Postponement or Cancellation
The Organisers reserve the right to alter the Event programme, performers, speakers, timings, venue layout, or other arrangements without notice (minor changes do not entitle you to a refund). If the Event is postponed, tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date (or a reasonable alternative date). If the Event is cancelled entirely by the Organisers and not rescheduled, ticket holders will be entitled to a refund of the face value of the ticket (excluding any administration fees or payment fees made in connection with the purchase of the ticket through the relevant platform by the organisers). Refunds will be processed within a reasonable period (normally within 14–30 days).
7. Entry and Right of Refusal – Organisers
Entry to the Event is at the Organisers' discretion. The Organisers (or venue staff acting on their behalf) reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person from the Event without refund if they: behave in a disruptive, abusive, threatening, or dangerous manner; breach these Terms; appear intoxicated; fail to comply with venue rules; or are suspected of illegal activity. No re-entry may be permitted once you leave the venue.
8. Dress Code and Conduct
A smart dress code applies. The Organisers may refuse entry if the dress code is not met. Attendees must conduct themselves respectfully and in line with the charitable nature of the Event.
9. Health, Safety, Liability and Disclaimer
Attendees attend the Event entirely at their own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wolverton School and Wolverton Parent Teacher Association (including their trustees, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives) deny and exclude all liability for any loss, damage, injury, death, or other harm suffered by any attendee or third party arising from or in connection with attendance at the Event, including (without limitation) any loss or damage to property, personal effects, or belongings; any indirect, consequential, or economic loss; or any issues related to the Event's organisation, facilities, catering, entertainment, or third-party suppliers.
In the event of any errors, mistakes, omissions, or breaches by the Organisers (including but not limited to administrative errors, incorrect information provided, or minor organisational failures), the Organisers' liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permissible under English law. Subject always to mandatory statutory protections, such liability (where it cannot otherwise be excluded) shall be limited to the face value of the ticket purchased and shall exclude any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Organisers' liability for death or personal injury caused by their negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law (including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Attendees should inform the Organisers in advance of any accessibility requirements or medical conditions needing reasonable adjustments, and the Organisers will use reasonable endeavours to accommodate such requests where practicable.
10. Venue (Hotel) Requirements and Separate Liability
The Event is held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel ("the Venue"), which is owned and operated independently of the Organisers. The Venue has its own house rules, policies, licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and conditions for entry and conduct (including but not limited to rules on behaviour, dress, alcohol service, security searches, and prohibited items). By attending the Event, you agree to comply with all such Venue rules and requirements, which may be displayed at the Venue or provided separately.
The Venue (including its owners, management, staff, and agents) reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse entry to any person, to require any person to leave the premises, or to take any other action deemed necessary for safety, security, compliance with law, or to prevent disruption—without refund and without liability to the Organisers.
Any separate bookings, reservations, accommodation, or use of the Venue's facilities (e.g., hotel rooms, restaurants, bars, or other services) are arrangements made directly between you and the Venue/hotel and are not the responsibility of the Organisers. The Organisers accept no liability for any issues, losses, damages, cancellations, or disputes arising from such separate arrangements, including but not limited to room availability, charges, quality of service, or enforcement of Venue policies.
11. Photography, Filming and Publicity
The Event may be photographed, filmed, or recorded for promotional, archival, or media purposes. By attending, you consent to your image, likeness, and voice being used in such materials without compensation. If you do not wish to appear, please inform staff on arrival.
12. Alcohol and Responsible Service
Alcohol may be served at the Event (subject to licensing laws). Attendees must drink responsibly. The Organisers/venue reserve the right to refuse service to anyone appearing intoxicated.
13. Data Protection
Personal data provided during ticket purchase will be processed in accordance with UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR). See the Organisers' privacy policy for details.
14. Force Majeure
The Organisers shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations if caused by events beyond reasonable control (e.g., fire, flood, pandemic restrictions, government action, or severe weather).
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
16. Entire Agreement and Variations
These Terms (together with any Event-specific information provided at purchase) constitute the entire agreement. The Organisers may update these Terms; the version in force at the time of purchase applies.
17. Severability
If any provision (or part of a provision) of these Terms is or becomes invalid, illegal, unenforceable, or void under English law or by decision of a court or other competent authority, that provision (or relevant part) shall, to the extent of such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability, be deemed severed or deleted. The remaining provisions (or parts) shall continue in full force and effect and shall not be affected or impaired thereby
18. Personal Data
Any personal data you provide during ticket purchase or registration (such as name, contact details, and payment information) will be processed in accordance with UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR). This data will be used primarily to administer the Event, including processing your ticket purchase, managing attendance, providing entry, handling any necessary communications related to the Event (such as updates, changes, reminders, or essential information), and fulfilling our obligations under these Terms. The Organisers may also use your data for reasonable related purposes connected to the Event's administration. We will not use your data for unrelated marketing purposes without separate consent (where required by law). By providing your data and purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge this use.
19. Catering
Catering and food services at the Event are provided by or through the Venue (or its appointed caterers) and are subject to the Venue's own policies, menus, and allergen management procedures. While the Organisers will endeavour to pass on any dietary requirements or allergen information you provide during ticket purchase or in advance (where requested), the Organisers do not guarantee that all dietary needs, preferences, or allergen-free options will be accommodated or available. It is your responsibility (and that of any guests in your party) to check directly with the Venue (or its catering team) in advance of the Event to confirm that your specific requirements can be met and to verify allergen information. The Organisers accept no liability for any failure to accommodate dietary requirements, any cross-contamination, or any related issues, except where caused by the Organisers' negligence and subject to the limitations in clause 9.
